Holmes County, FL (August 18, 2026) – A fatal two-vehicle collision near the Alabama border claimed the life of a 21-year-old Tennessee woman on Sunday morning, August 16. The crash occurred at the intersection of SR 81 and Holmes County Road 185 and involved an SUV with five occupants and a pickup truck.
The woman was a passenger in the SUV and died from injuries suffered in the crash. Four other people from the SUV were taken to area hospitals with various injuries. The pickup truck driver, an Enterprise, Alabama, man, was blamed for the crash after investigators determined he failed to stop at the intersection and entered the SUV’s path.
The pickup driver and his passenger suffered minor injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
