Pontiac, MI (September 1, 2026) – A 24-year-old man was killed on Sunday, August 30, after he was ejected from his vehicle during an early-morning rollover crash in Independence Township, Oakland County.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Jeffrey Alejandro Euceda-Cruz of Pontiac. Deputies said Euceda-Cruz was driving a 2010 Nissan GT-R south on Dixie Highway, south of Maybee Road, around 2 a.m. when he lost control.
The Nissan crossed the northbound lanes, struck a curb and rolled over, ejecting Euceda-Cruz from the vehicle. Deputies and Independence Township firefighters attempted to provide aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined Euceda-Cruz was not wearing a seat belt. Excessive speed is believed to have contributed to the crash, while authorities are also investigating whether alcohol played a role. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate why the driver lost control.
