Reidsville, NC (June 2, 2026) – Three people were hospitalized following a school bus crash on US 158 near Brooks Rd in Reidsville.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred at about 4:25 p.m. on Monday, June 1. Investigators said a Rockingham County Schools bus was traveling east on US 158 when a Ford Transit van heading west crossed the center line and struck the bus.
After the collision, the school bus left the roadway and overturned in a ditch. A middle school-aged student and the bus driver were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. School district officials said they were the only two people aboard the bus at the time.
The driver of the van was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. Troopers reported that charges are pending in connection with the accident. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances leading up to the crash.
