Milton, DE (July 10, 2026) – Five people were taken to area hospitals following a two-vehicle collision on Thursday evening at the intersection of Diamond Farm Road and Carpenter Road in Milton.

The crash was reported at approximately 7:26 p.m. Emergency crews from Milton, Lewes, and local EMS agencies responded to the scene, along with paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation.

Initial reports indicated six people were evaluated by emergency medical personnel. Four sustained minor injuries, while two others were believed to have suffered potentially serious injuries. Although a medical helicopter was initially requested, authorities later determined that air transport was not needed.

Five of the six patients were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment. Officials have not released additional information regarding their conditions or the circumstances that led to the collision. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

We are thinking of those injured and wish them a full and speedy recovery.

Why Multi-Injury Rural Intersection Crashes Require Thorough Investigation

Crashes at rural intersections can result in multiple injuries because vehicles usually approach at higher speeds and may have limited time to react to crossing traffic. Investigators typically review vehicle positions, roadway markings, debris, traffic control devices, and witness statements to determine how the collision occurred.

Additional evidence, including vehicle damage, visibility, weather conditions, and any available electronic or surveillance data, may also be examined. These findings help investigators reconstruct the sequence of events and identify the factors that contributed to the crash.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
