Los Angeles, CA (January 5, 2026) – A passenger was injured in a multi-vehicle collision early Friday morning on the westbound I-10 transition ramp to northbound US-101, causing significant delays and a large-scale emergency response.
The crash was first reported around 6:43 a.m. and involved a white Hyundai Ioniq 5 and a white pickup truck, possibly a commercial vehicle. The impact left both vehicles disabled, with the pickup truck reportedly facing the wrong way and blocking the #1 and #2 lanes on the transition ramp near the Mission Rd exit.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and confirmed at least one passenger from the white pickup was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. The driver and the vehicle were later located off Mission Rd for further evaluation.
A tow was requested for the Hyundai Ioniq, which sustained major front-end damage. Fire and traffic crews worked quickly to clear the roadway and assist in the investigation, as traffic built up in the area during peak commute hours.
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the cause of the crash. Officials are looking into whether merging conflicts, speed, or unsafe lane changes contributed to the collision.
We extend our sincere wishes for a full and swift recovery to the injured passenger and all others affected by this incident.
