Charlottesville, VA (January 7, 2026) – A man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital following a crash that resulted in him being ejected from a vehicle near Lee St in Charlottesville on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:33 p.m. on January 4. Emergency medical crews responded to the scene and found an adult male who had been thrown from the vehicle during the crash. Upon arrival, the patient was initially unconscious and later became combative as responders worked to stabilize him.
Medics reported significant trauma, including head and chest injuries. Due to the severity of his condition and the complexity of his airway, advanced life support measures were initiated, and AirCare 6 was activated for rapid transport to a nearby trauma center. The patient was flown out after being stabilized on the ground, where he remained in critical condition at the time of transport.
Authorities have not confirmed what led to the crash or whether any other individuals were involved. No additional information regarding the vehicle or exact location along Lee St has been made public.
