Newton, MO (January 8, 2026) – A three-vehicle collision caused multiple injuries Wednesday evening on MO-37 at Wentworth in Newton County. The crash, which occurred around 6:20 p.m., involved significant vehicle damage and required the response of multiple towing services and emergency medical teams.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D, a northbound 2007 Nissan Xterra struck the rear of a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, forcing it into the path of a southbound 2019 Toyota Camry. The impact caused all three vehicles to sustain total damage and left debris across the roadway. All vehicles were removed by separate towing services.
The 35-year-old male driver of the Camry, from Kimberling City, MO, sustained moderate injuries. A 16-year-old male passenger in that same vehicle, from Holiday Island, AR, was treated for injuries. The Camaro’s 19-year-old male driver and a 26-year-old male occupant, both from Webb City, MO, were also injured. All four individuals were transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for further treatment. All injured parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Troopers S.J. Hallam and K.A. McCallister assisted at the scene, where the roadway remained partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.
