Beaumont, TX (January 9, 2026) – A devastating head-on collision claimed the lives of two Beaumont residents late on Thursday night on State Highway 105, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety and Jefferson County authorities.
The fatal crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. on January 8, just west of Beaumont near Keith Rd. Investigators say a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of SH-105 when it struck a 2022 Nissan Sentra head-on. The impact of the crash was severe, causing debris to scatter across the highway. A 2021 Ford Explorer traveling westbound then struck the wreckage, but fortunately did not result in any injuries to its occupants.
Emergency crews responded swiftly, but tragically, both drivers involved in the initial collision were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 38-year-old Beaumont man, and the driver of the Nissan, a 50-year-old Beaumont woman, both succumbed to their injuries before they could be transported for further care. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of family members.
Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. confirmed the deaths and ordered autopsies for both victims. Beaumont EMS provided on-scene support and assisted with managing the crash response.
This tragic accident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. No additional details about the cause have been released.
