Fresno, CA (January 11, 2026) – Emergency crews in Fresno responded on Saturday evening to a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle near the intersection of Blackstone Ave and Gettysburg Ave. The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on January 10 and resulted in injuries to a 25-year-old woman riding a bicycle.
First responders, including paramedics and Fresno Police, arrived at the scene to provide aid. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. According to officials, her condition was listed as stable.
Investigators stated that the cyclist was traveling east across Blackstone Ave while holding her cell phone when she reportedly jumped the center median and was struck by a northbound vehicle. Authorities believe the cyclist may not have been paying full attention at the time of the collision.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Traffic was briefly impacted in the area as crews secured the roadway and assessed the circumstances surrounding the incident.
