Loris, SC (January 12, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash caused lane closures and sent two people to the hospital in the area of South Highway 701 and Highway 19 in Loris. Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:04 p.m. to assist with injuries and scene management.
Emergency medical teams provided care to both injured individuals before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed, but both were reported to need further medical attention.
The crash led to blocked lanes and significant traffic delays as crews worked to assist the victims and clear the roadway. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the cause of the collision.
By 3:50 p.m., all lanes had reopened, and normal traffic flow had resumed. Motorists were advised to avoid the area during the closure for safety and to allow responders space to work.
