San Diego, CA (January 15, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred Wednesday afternoon on northbound I-15 near Friars Rd, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision was first reported shortly after 1:00 p.m., involving at least four vehicles. One driver reportedly lost consciousness prior to the crash, leading to a rear-end collision with a blue Honda Civic that then struck a center divider. Emergency responders arrived on scene to assess the situation and confirmed that moderate injuries were sustained in the incident.
Tow-truck services were requested for multiple vehicles, and traffic was impacted in the #1 lane as crews worked to clear debris and assist those involved. The incident was later reclassified from a non-injury crash to a minor injury collision by CHP officials.
