Garbage Truck Crashes at City Intersections
Crashes involving garbage trucks can cause serious injuries because these vehicles are large, heavy, and often operate in busy areas. They may stop often, turn slowly, or move through streets where other drivers are entering from side roads.
Intersections can add risk because several traffic movements happen at once. Drivers may be turning, crossing through, or stopping near the same point. A smaller vehicle can suffer major damage when it collides with a heavy truck.
Extrication may be needed when a damaged vehicle traps a driver inside. This can happen after doors, frames, or dashboard areas bend during impact. Emergency units may need time to safely free the person before medical care can continue.
