Ontario, CA (January 16, 2026) – A deadly crash involving multiple vehicles, including a semi-truck, claimed one life on Thursday morning on the 10 Freeway in Ontario, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 11:04 a.m. on January 15, on the westbound side of the 10 Freeway at the interchange with the 15 Freeway near Etiwanda Ave. CHP officials reported that the crash involved a semi-truck that collided with another semi following a multi-vehicle incident in the area.
One person was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim pending family notification.
The collision caused damage to the overpass, prompting officials to issue a SigAlert at the interchange. Traffic in the area was severely impacted as emergency crews responded and investigators worked to assess the damage and clear the scene.
CHP has not confirmed the exact number of vehicles involved or the initial cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
