Willows, CA (January 16, 2026) – A tragic collision in Willows on Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of 65-year-old Daniel Perry, who was riding a moped at the time of the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on January 14, at the intersection of West Sycamore St and North Culver St. Authorities say 74-year-old Elton Garner was driving a pickup truck when he pulled out from a stop sign and struck Perry’s moped.

The impact of the crash caused Perry to be ejected from the moped. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Perry was pronounced deceased at the scene due to his injuries.

Officials have not released additional details regarding potential citations or charges, and the crash remains under active investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
