Bakersfield, CA (January 18, 2026) – A serious rollover accident involving two vehicles left five people injured Friday evening near Hageman Road in Bakersfield. The crash occurred on January 17 and prompted a large emergency response due to the number of patients and the condition of the vehicles.
Officials on scene reported that both vehicles had rolled over and came to rest off the roadway. Fire and rescue personnel from multiple agencies arrived quickly and assumed command of what was designated the “Hageman Incident.”
Emergency responders confirmed a total of five patients at the scene. Four individuals were classified with minor injuries (green tags), while one victim was categorized as a yellow tag, indicating more serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Due to heavy fog in the area, air ambulance services were grounded, and additional ground ambulances were requested to ensure timely patient transport.
The poor visibility added complications to the rescue operation, but crews were able to safely manage the situation. At least three ambulances were sent to the scene, and a medical alert was issued during the initial response phase.
Authorities are continuing to investigate what caused the crash and whether road conditions, fog, or driver error played a role.
Our thoughts are with those injured in this accident, and we hope for a full and swift recovery.
