San Jose, CA (January 18, 2026) – A high-priority medical response was initiated early Friday morning following a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of Senter Road and Phelan Avenue in San Jose.
Engine 26 and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 2:28 a.m. on January 17. The crash occurred within Station 26’s coverage area and was treated as an urgent incident due to the involvement of a vulnerable road user.
Responders arrived to find a bicyclist injured in the roadway following the crash. Immediate care was provided at the scene before the patient was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The exact condition of the bicyclist has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities have not disclosed the events leading up to the collision or whether the driver remained at the scene. The incident is under active investigation to determine fault and contributing factors.
