Vernon Co, MO (January 18, 2026) – A woman was hospitalized with moderate injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Friday evening just east of Nevada, along Highway K.
The crash took place at approximately 5:20 p.m. on January 16, according to reports from Trooper T. Sandoval of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Authorities say a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 73-year-old Nevada man, was traveling eastbound when it turned into the path of a westbound 1985 Chevrolet K30, resulting in a collision.
A 37-year-old woman from Nevada, who was an occupant in the Chevrolet K30, suffered moderate injuries. Emergency crews from Vernon County responded to the scene and transported her to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment. Reports indicate that she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed by local recovery services. The driver of the K30, a 30-year-old Nevada man, was also unrestrained but did not report injuries at the scene. The Silverado driver was reportedly wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
We send our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery to the injured woman and hope for healing and peace for all involved.
