Bradenton, FL (January 19, 2026) – A devastating crash early on Monday morning claimed the life of one teenager and left another with life-threatening injuries in Manatee County. The collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. on State Road 70 near Caruso Rd and involved a motorcycle and a sedan, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP reported that a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were riding together on the motorcycle when they collided with the sedan. The impact of the crash was severe, and both teens were thrown from the motorcycle. One of the riders was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
The eastbound lanes of SR-70 were closed for several hours as troopers and deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office worked to secure the area and begin their investigation.
