Rochester, MN (January 19, 2026) – A collision on Elton Hills Dr NW left two pedestrians, both law enforcement officers, with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. on January 18 near the 2300 block of Elton Hills Dr NW in Olmsted County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Honda Pilot was traveling westbound when it struck a Chevrolet Tahoe and subsequently hit two officers who were on foot. The officers, identified as James Michael Logan, 51, and Preston Satzke, 22, both of Rochester, sustained injuries and were transported to Mayo Clinic for treatment.
The Honda Pilot was driven by 18-year-old Najmo Nuno Khalif, with passenger Jaeleen Martinez, 18, also of Rochester. Neither individual was injured. The Chevrolet Tahoe was occupied by Byron Dwayne Campbell, 41, of Austin, Texas, who also did not report any injuries. Airbags deployed in the Honda Pilot, while the Tahoe’s airbags did not deploy.
Emergency responders from the Rochester Police Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance assisted at the scene. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor, and all involved parties cooperated with the investigation.
