Los Feliz, CA (January 20, 2026) – Authorities have identified 28-year-old Moses Jimenez as the victim killed in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred early Sunday morning on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway near Los Feliz Blvd.
The crash was reported around 3:20 a.m. on January 18 and involved several vehicles under circumstances still being investigated by the California Highway Patrol. Responding officers and fire crews arrived quickly to assess the scene and provide emergency aid.
Jimenez was reportedly ejected from one of the vehicles during the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another 28-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Four additional individuals—a 22-year-old man, two others also aged 22 and 35, and a 61-year-old man—were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
All northbound lanes of I-5 were closed for several hours as officials conducted a thorough investigation and worked to clear the wreckage. The exact cause of the crash remains unknown, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether impairment, speed, or other factors were involved.
