Lake Elsinore, CA (January 20, 2026) – A motorcyclist sustained major injuries in a serious crash Sunday afternoon on the Ortega (74) Highway southwest of El Cariso, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The collision was reported at approximately 3:21 p.m. on January 18. Initial reports indicated that a motorcycle and another vehicle collided along the winding stretch of SR-74 near Lake Elsinore. The direction of travel for either party has not yet been confirmed.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and began immediate medical care. Due to the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries, an air ambulance was called, and the rider was airlifted to a nearby trauma center. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured and transported by ground ambulance with moderate injuries.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials are working to determine whether speed, roadway conditions, or other factors contributed to the incident.
