Orange, CA (January 20, 2026) – A deadly collision involving multiple vehicles occurred on Monday morning on the northbound side of the Orange (57) Freeway near Chapman Ave, leaving one person dead and prompting an investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. and is believed to have involved as many as four vehicles. CHP officers and firefighters responded swiftly to the scene and began emergency operations. One individual was tragically pronounced deceased, though it remains unclear whether the person passed away at the scene or later at a medical facility.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, and details about the sequence of events leading up to the collision remain under investigation. The crash led to significant lane closures on the northbound 57 Freeway, causing traffic delays during the morning commute.
