Citrus Heights, CA (January 20, 2026) – Authorities have identified the woman who was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Citrus Heights as 33-year-old Mia Miskic of Fair Oaks.
The fatal collision occurred just before 2:00 a.m. on January 18, near the intersection of Greenback Lane and Dewey Drive. According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, Miskic was behind the wheel of an SUV when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole.
Officers arrived on scene shortly after the crash and discovered Miskic unconscious inside the vehicle. Emergency medical efforts were immediately initiated. Sacramento Metro Fire crews also responded and transported Miskic to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead despite extensive life-saving measures.
Investigators have not yet determined the exact cause of the crash, though preliminary findings suggest that impairment may have been a contributing factor. Eastbound Greenback Lane between Hilltree Avenue and Dewey Drive was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation.
