Clifton Park, NY (January 21, 2026) – A State Trooper sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Route 146 and Clifton Country Rd in Saratoga County.
According to New York State Police, the incident unfolded shortly after 6:30 a.m. when a vehicle traveling east on Route 146 struck the driver’s side of a marked State Police vehicle heading northbound through the intersection. Following the initial impact, the same vehicle collided with another car traveling west on Route 146.
Emergency medical services arrived on scene and provided care to the injured trooper. Fortunately, no other individuals involved reported injuries, and no hospital transports were required beyond the trooper’s treatment. The trooper was not engaged in an emergency response at the time of the crash.
All three vehicles sustained damage and were later removed from the intersection. Authorities closed the affected lanes temporarily while the scene was cleared and evidence was documented.
The cause of the accident remains under active investigation by the State Police. No additional details regarding citations or contributing factors have been released at this time.
