Taney Co, MO (January 22, 2026) – A serious rear-end accident involving two northbound vehicles left one man with significant injuries on Wednesday morning on US-65, about six miles north of Branson.
The incident occurred around 8:25 a.m., when a 2001 GMC Sierra, driven by a 20-year-old man from Jackson, reportedly struck the rear of a 2013 Ford Taurus, also traveling northbound. The impact forced both vehicles off the left side of the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and assessed the scene. The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 42-year-old man from Pyatt, AR, sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson for treatment. No other injuries were reported at the time.
Both vehicles sustained considerable damage, with the Ford Taurus being declared a total loss. Finley River Towing assisted in removing both vehicles from the scene.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop D continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not released further details regarding contributing factors.
