Phoenix, AZ (January 22, 2026) – A man was hospitalized early on Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while inspecting his broken-down car in the Laveen area of Phoenix.
The incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. near 31st Avenue and Baseline Road. According to Phoenix Police, the man had exited his vehicle after it became disabled on Baseline Rd. While checking on the issue, he was hit by another passing car.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the injured man to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed his injuries were non-life-threatening.
Westbound lanes of Baseline Rd were partially restricted as police investigated and worked to clear the area. Officers are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the collision and have not yet released further details regarding the second vehicle or driver.
