Chula Vista, CA (January 24, 2026) – A 37-year-old woman was injured Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot near Fifth Ave in Chula Vista.
The incident occurred on January 23 at approximately 6:03 p.m., when emergency crews responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian collision in the parking lot of a local retail center. According to medics on scene, the woman stated she was walking through the lot when she was hit by a small SUV traveling at a low rate of speed. The impact caused her to fall but did not result in head trauma or loss of consciousness.
Paramedics treated the woman for a right ankle injury, noting minor swelling and localized pain. She remained alert and oriented with stable vital signs and was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital by UCSD Medic 3 for further evaluation. No other injuries were reported, and the driver remained at the scene.
Chula Vista police were present during the response and are reviewing the circumstances of the incident. Authorities have not released further information on whether any citations were issued.
