The crash took place shortly before 2 a.m. and involved a vehicle that was stopped when it was struck from behind.
The impact was reported at an estimated speed of 25 to 35 miles per hour. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was wearing a seatbelt and did not experience airbag deployment. However, the patient did report a brief loss of consciousness and was experiencing intermittent numbness in both his arms and legs.
Medics noted visible reddening to his right eye and a small abrasion across the bridge of his nose.
