Georgetown, DE (January 28, 2026) – A rollover crash along southbound Dupont Blvd near Kruger Rd resulted in one person being transported for injuries on Tuesday, January 27. The incident prompted a coordinated response from multiple Sussex County emergency agencies.
Two-vehicle involvement is suspected, and the force of the crash caused at least one vehicle to overturn. Georgetown Fire Company (Station 77), Georgetown EMS (Station 93), and supporting medics arrived at the scene shortly after the call was received. Although DSP Aviation Trooper 2 was initially dispatched, officials later confirmed the helicopter was not needed for transport.
The injured individual was taken by ground ambulance for further evaluation. The exact extent of their injuries has not been released, but the presence of multiple first responders and the nature of the crash suggested the situation was treated as serious.
Traffic along Dupont Blvd was temporarily impacted as crews worked to secure the area and manage the scene. Road conditions and contributing factors to the rollover are still under investigation by local authorities.
We send our well wishes to the injured individual and hope for their full recovery.
