Charleston, WV (January 30, 2026) – An early morning accident on Charleston’s West Side left at least one person injured on Thursday following a collision on the 200 block of W Main St.
The crash occurred around 6:22 a.m., just as traffic was beginning to build for the morning commute. Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene to assist those involved. Paramedics rendered care to at least one individual who sustained injuries in the accident. The extent of those injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities temporarily blocked portions of the roadway while fire and rescue personnel secured the area and cleared debris. Motorists in the vicinity experienced brief delays as the scene was managed, but traffic has since resumed normal flow.
Investigators with the Charleston Police Department are working to determine what led to the crash. Officials have not released the identities of those involved, and it remains unclear how many vehicles were affected.
