San Diego, CA (January 30, 2026) – A man sustained minor injuries Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the Normal Heights neighborhood, according to emergency radio communications.
The incident occurred on January 28 at approximately 8:11 p.m. Medics arrived to find a 53-year-old male pedestrian who had been knocked down by a vehicle that rolled through a stop sign at a low rate of speed—estimated between 1 and 2 miles per hour.
The man was alert and standing when emergency responders arrived. He denied any head trauma or loss of consciousness but reported mild pain to the middle of his back and right side, where he fell during the impact. There were no visible signs of serious injury, and the patient showed movement in all extremities.
Medical personnel placed a cervical collar as a precaution and transported the man to a nearby facility for further evaluation. No treatments were administered en route, and his condition remained stable.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and no charges have been reported. Authorities have not yet released additional information about the incident.
