Fort Wayne, IN (January 30, 2026) – A serious traffic accident on Fort Wayne’s south side has resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The collision occurred near S Anthony Blvd and Gardendale Ave at approximately 10 p.m. on January 29.
Fort Wayne Police and local emergency medical services arrived at the scene to assist the individuals involved. Officials reported that two vehicles, each carrying two occupants, were part of the accident.
Investigators stated that the incident happened as one of the vehicles attempted to turn from S Anthony Blvd onto Gardendale Ave. During the maneuver, the vehicles collided, leaving all four occupants suffering from a variety of injuries.
Those injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that one of the victims, a minor who was taken in life-threatening condition, later died at the hospital despite medical efforts.
The area experienced disruptions as responders worked to provide care and officers gathered information from the scene. The accident remains under investigation, and additional details have not yet been released.
