Hampton, VA (January 31, 2026) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a traffic collision inside the eastbound tunnel of Interstate 64 in Hampton on January 30, where one person sustained injuries requiring medical attention. The incident led to coordination between local crews, Virginia State Police, and transportation officials.
Ladder One and Squad One were among the responding units that entered the tunnel to assess the scene and provide care to the injured individual. The precise cause of the collision has not yet been shared, and authorities have not confirmed whether other vehicles were involved.
