Victorville, CA (February 1, 2026) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday evening along Hook Boulevard in Victorville, prompting a major emergency response and extended road closures in the area.
The fatal incident occurred around 6:49 p.m. on January 31 in the 17000 block of Hook Blvd, near High Desert Church and adjacent to Hook Park. According to preliminary reports, the pedestrian had been walking from the direction of the church toward the park when they were hit by a white 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Bystanders at the scene immediately stopped to assist and attempted to render aid before first responders arrived. Victorville City Fire Department personnel located the pedestrian on the sidewalk near the park, where paramedics later confirmed the individual had died as a result of the collision.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has withheld the victim’s identity pending family notification.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Dodge Caravan, a female motorist, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the deputies. The vehicle sustained visible damage to the hood and the right front passenger side due to the impact.
As deputies conducted a detailed investigation, both directions of Hook Boulevard were closed between Ashley Glenn and Arlette Drives for several hours.
