Tustin, CA (February 2, 2026) – A serious motorcycle accident left a rider with severe injuries Sunday evening in Tustin, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident took place at approximately 5:36 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near the Tustin Ranch Road area.
Reports indicate the accident involved a civilian motorcycle and another vehicle. After the collision, both the motorcycle and the involved vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder of the freeway. The motorcyclist was found down at the scene following the impact, prompting an urgent response.
CHP officers arrived alongside fire personnel and paramedics, who provided immediate medical care to the injured rider. The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and breathing while receiving treatment and was suffering from a variety of injuries described as severe. Information shared by authorities suggested the rider may have sustained multiple leg fractures.
To allow emergency crews to safely treat the injured motorcyclist and secure the scene, right-side lanes of northbound I-5 were temporarily blocked, leading to traffic delays in the area.
