Pemiscot, MO (February 4, 2026) – An accident involving two vehicles left at least one person injured on Tuesday afternoon in Pemiscot County. The collision was reported around 12:30 p.m. on February 3 along MO U, approximately two miles west of Caruthersville, drawing a response from local emergency personnel.
Information provided by authorities indicates that a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was stopped in the roadway when it was struck by a westbound 2017 Kia Forte. The force of the impact caused severe damage to both vehicles, and each was later removed from the scene by towing services due to the extent of the wreckage.
Emergency medical services arrived to check on those involved and assist anyone hurt in the accident. The 71-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Great Rivers Medical Center in Blytheville, Arkansas, for further evaluation and treatment. The 35-year-old male driver of the Kia was also evaluated at the scene following the collision.
Traffic along the roadway was affected as crews worked to assist the injured and clear the damaged vehicles. The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine all contributing factors.
