Why Do Commercial Corridors See Frequent Midday Collisions?
Roadways lined with retail stores and service businesses, such as South Roane Street, often experience steady traffic throughout the day. Vehicles entering and exiting parking lots, merging into traffic, or slowing to turn can create unpredictable driving patterns.
Midday hours may bring a mix of local traffic, delivery vehicles, and customers visiting nearby businesses. These conditions can increase the risk of rear-end or side-impact crashes, particularly if drivers misjudge spacing or fail to anticipate turning vehicles.
Intersections and business entrances can become congestion points, where brief lapses in attention lead to collisions. Investigators typically review driver statements, vehicle positioning, and roadway conditions to determine contributing factors in two-vehicle accidents.
