Why Wrong-Way Driving Often Leads to Fatal Crashes
Wrong-way driving is especially dangerous because it often results in head-on collisions. These crashes involve vehicles traveling directly toward each other, increasing the impact force and the risk of death.
Wrong-way incidents may happen due to driver confusion, impairment, or missed road signs. Highway entrances and exits can be difficult to navigate, especially at night or in unfamiliar areas.
Head-on collisions leave little time for drivers to react or avoid impact. Proper signage, driver awareness, and quick reporting of wrong-way drivers can help reduce the risk of fatal crashes.
