Why Pedestrian Crashes Can Require Technical Rescues
Crashes involving pedestrians can quickly become complex when a person is pinned beneath a vehicle. In these situations, emergency crews must carefully stabilize the vehicle to prevent further movement before performing a controlled extrication.
Intersections with mixed vehicle and pedestrian traffic present added risks, especially when visibility or reaction time is limited. Investigators will typically review vehicle positioning, driver actions, and roadway conditions to determine how the incident occurred.
