What Can Lead to a Motorcycle Crossing Into Oncoming Traffic?
Motorcycles can become unstable if a rider loses control due to excessive speed, poor road surface conditions, or sudden maneuvers. When a bike drifts or crosses the center line, the risk of a head-on collision increases sharply.
Head-on crashes are often severe because both vehicles are moving toward each other. Even at moderate speeds, the combined force of impact can result in life-threatening injuries for a rider.
Road design, curves, and traffic flow can also affect control. Motorcycles require balance and quick reactions, and small changes in direction or traction can have serious consequences.
