Jacksonville, FL (March 9, 2026) – A woman from Lake City died, and two others were injured after a three-vehicle crash Sunday evening on Interstate 10 in Jacksonville. The accident occurred around 6:42 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near U.S. Highway 301.
Emergency units responded after a pickup truck struck the rear of a sedan that had been stopped in traffic. According to early reports, the pickup was driven by a 24-year-old man from St. Johns who failed to stop before hitting the vehicle.
The impact pushed the sedan off the roadway and into a guardrail. The vehicle then returned to the travel lanes and collided with another car traveling through the area.
Authorities said the driver of the sedan, a 33-year-old woman, died at the scene. A 43-year-old man who was riding as a passenger in the sedan suffered serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was also seriously injured and taken to a hospital.
Two people inside the third vehicle involved in the crash were not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
