How High-Speed Ramp Entries Can Lead to Serious Crashes
Entering a highway at high speed can increase the chance of losing control, especially on curved ramps. Drivers may have less time to adjust to roadway conditions or changing traffic patterns.
Guardrails are designed to prevent vehicles from leaving the roadway, but impacts at higher speeds can still lead to severe outcomes. A vehicle may bounce, spin, or even become airborne after striking a barrier.
Proper speed control and awareness of ramp design can help reduce these risks. Slowing down before entering a highway allows drivers to maintain better control and react more effectively to surrounding traffic.
