Pedestrian Safety at Major Urban Intersections
Intersections such as Beach Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard can create risk due to turning movements. When injuries are reported in Buena Park, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and protect those at the scene.
Major urban roads often carry steady traffic in several lanes, which can increase the chance of a collision when pedestrians cross the street. Even when signals control traffic flow, drivers and pedestrians must rely on clear visibility and timing to move safely through the intersection.
Late-night hours may also affect visibility and driver awareness. Street lighting, vehicle speed, and traffic signals can influence how quickly drivers notice someone crossing the roadway.
