Pedestrian Risks Along Busy Community Corridors
Roads like Mendocino Avenue often connect neighborhoods, businesses, and local services. These corridors may carry steady vehicle traffic throughout the day while also serving as common walking routes for residents.
Pedestrian crashes can occur when vehicles travel at higher speeds through areas where people frequently cross the street. Limited crossing points or busy intersections can also increase the risk for those walking nearby.
Incidents involving pedestrians often lead to extensive scene reviews, especially when crashes occur near businesses or other roadside structures. Roadway layout, driver behavior, and visibility conditions can all influence how these events unfold.
