Why Turning Collisions at Highway Intersections Can Be Dangerous
Main travel routes like Highway 65 often carry steady traffic moving at higher speeds. When collisions occur near intersections in areas such as Lindsay, emergency crews typically secure the roadway while assisting those involved.
Turning across traffic can create a high risk of crashes when approaching vehicles are already traveling along the highway. Drivers attempting to turn may misjudge distance or speed, leaving limited time for both vehicles to react.
Intersections that connect highways to local roads may see vehicles slowing, accelerating, or changing direction at the same time. These combined movements can increase the likelihood of collisions when one vehicle crosses into the path of another.
