Las Cruces, NM (March 16, 2026) – Two teenagers were airlifted to a hospital following a serious crash early on Saturday morning near the New Mexico State University campus in Las Cruces, authorities reported.
Officers with the New Mexico State University Police Department responded to the collision at the intersection of Choilla Road and South Triviz Road, near New Mexico State University. According to police officials, three teenagers were involved in the crash. Two of them sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to the University Medical Center of El Paso for treatment.
Authorities said the injured teens were transported by helicopter after being struck or impaled by objects during the collision. Officials reported that all three teenagers were listed in stable condition following the incident. Emergency crews secured the scene while investigators worked to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities indicated that charges may be filed as additional details are reviewed.
