Why Motorcycle and Semi-Truck Collisions Are Often Fatal
Collisions between motorcycles and large trucks are particularly dangerous due to the size and weight difference. Even at moderate speeds, a motorcycle striking or being struck by a tractor-trailer can result in severe or fatal injuries.
Limited visibility for truck drivers, sudden stops, and high speeds can increase the risk of these crashes. Motorcyclists are more vulnerable because they lack the protective structure of a car.
Using protective gear and staying aware of large vehicles on the road can help reduce risk, but even small misjudgments can lead to catastrophic outcomes in these situations.
