What Causes Head-On Collisions Between Large Trucks?
Head-on crashes involving commercial vehicles, such as those on Toll 49 in Smith County, Texas, are often among the most severe types of roadway incidents.
These crashes can occur when a driver loses control, becomes distracted, or crosses the center line due to fatigue or mechanical issues. In some cases, road conditions or sudden maneuvers may also contribute.
Because of the size and weight of semi-trucks, head-on impacts can lead to catastrophic damage, hazardous material concerns, and extended road closures while emergency crews manage the aftermath.
