How Motorcycle Accidents Can Happen on Highways
Highway crashes involving motorcycles often occur when vehicles fail to see or properly judge a rider’s speed. Rear-end collisions can be especially dangerous because motorcycles offer little protection in impacts. Vehicle control is another factor; sudden stops or evasive maneuvers by cars and trucks can create chain reactions. Highway conditions, such as tight lanes, wet pavement, and heavy traffic, also contribute to the risk. Riders are more vulnerable due to their exposure, and even experienced motorcyclists can be severely hurt in collisions with larger vehicles. Wearing helmets and protective gear reduces injury risk but cannot fully prevent harm in high-speed crashes.
