What Can Lead to Multi-Vehicle Crashes in Busy Urban Corridors?
Mixed-use streets like West 125th Street may involve varied speeds and traffic types. When control is lost, a single vehicle can quickly strike multiple road users, including cyclists and nearby cars.
Busy city corridors often have parked vehicles, active traffic lanes, and vulnerable road users in proximity. This can increase the severity of a crash when a vehicle travels unpredictably through the area.
Road design, traffic density, and driver condition all influence how these incidents unfold. In crowded areas, even a brief loss of control can result in multiple impacts and injuries.
